Alright, get ready, because this is going to be the best blog post yet! My birthday week started out on the seventh. My bishop from church dropped off cupcakes from the local cupcake bakery-For the life of me I can't remember what it's called. Here's the one I chose.
Catelyn was going out of town on Friday and wanted to do something with me for my birthday on Thursday. So she decided that we should go get our nails done. For those of you who know me, I am usually not girly at all, so I was a little nervous. But I had fun! I got my nails painted and afterwards we went to Jamba Juice!! It was Thirsty Thursday, so when I got the regular size, they bumped it up to a power size for free!!! I was a happy camper!
After that, Lundy and I went shopping and she got a big bag of star bursts! I haven't had those in a long time! She dumped them all out on the floor and sorted them by color. She was about to put them all back in the bag, but I told her to wait so I could get a picture. I don't have an SLR camera, but I think my point and shoot did pretty well!
Then my birthday came! At 9:55am, I had a doctors appointment to get my stitches out and get the results of the biopsy. Here is what my hip looks like now.
You can see the lines where the stitches were. I think it looks pretty cool. The results of the biopsy came back saying that I have dermatofibroma. That's a big word for saying that I somehow got a cut on my hip, and when it healed, the scar tissue wasn't the 'right kind' so my body decided to attack it. Basically, my hip is self-destructive. :) Doctor Anderson told me that there isn't a cure for it and wants me to come back on Monday (the 12th) and he is going to cut the whole thing out. I was a little shocked when he told me this, but I agreed because if this is what it takes to make it un-painful to walk, I'll do it! I will have pictures of my new stitches on here on Monday.
On to the happy part of my birthday! When I came home, this is what I found on my desk.
I have the sweetest boyfriend!!
Then, we went to see Sherlock Holmes 2 because I hadn't seen it yet. I love it!!
My favorite line comes from Sherlock himself, "They're dangerous on both end and crafty in the middle." I laughed SO HARD when he said that because I know how true that is. I then laughed every time I saw him on the little shetland pony. Lundy, Whitney and Rachel all thought I was losing it, but it really was SO funny!
When we got back, Rachel said that she had a present for me. She then proceeded to hand me this.
In case you were wondering, yes, it is wrapped in layers and layers of plastic wrap, packing tape, rubber bands and tooth picks.
The 'card' explained how things worked.
Since I only had three guesses, I guessed once, got it wrong and started unwrapping whatever it was. The toothpick promptly broke, but as I got further into it, I started feeling little pricks on my hands. I looked closer and there were toothpicks under the plastic wrap! She is a clever one! Then I took a lot of them out, looked at the 'thing' and asked, "Is it a Rubix cube?!" She nodded her head and said go get the knife. Now don't judge me for being excited about a Rubix cube. She is SUPER smart and has been trying to teach me how to solve one for a while. She lent me one of hers-yes, she has multiple-and I can solve the top and the first row now!
For my birthday dinner we had sloppy joes and german chocolate cake with whipped cream for the icing and heath bar crumbled on the top.
This is Lundy and I with the toothpicks from Rachels present.
Then we couldn't think of anything exciting to do after dinner, so we went to Walmart. * shakes head * The things we do in Walmart. First, Lundy found a great shirt!
Then Lundy and I got lost and wandered around the store. This is where we found Whitney and Rachel.
It was interesting, to say the least. Then we kept on wandering through the store. Rachel really REALLY wanted to have a sword fight, so I obliged, and handed Whitney the camera.
We had fun, to say the least.
And then we went to the gardening section. Whitney and Rachel found those glass bulb things that you stick in your flower beds, and decided that it looked like the Olympic torch. I promptly put my camera on video mode, because I knew this was going to be good. And it was. :)
I set it to the olympic march. I thought it was appropriate.
We then found the gardening section, and Whitney and Rachel had a sword/saw fight.
After that it was on to the bike section.
So basically, I had a great birthday!!! Thank you Lundy, Whitney, Rachel, and Catelyn!!!
