We aren't as dumb as we look.

Alright. It has come to my attention that the boys here randomly go around and knock on girls doors-just for the heck of it (and to flirt) and tonight this very thing happened. We had a knock at our door and Rachel went and answered it. There were 3 guys standing there, wanting to know if we would participate in a survey and if any of our other roommates were home. So Rachel comes back to my and Whitney's room and tells us this and we want to know what the survey is about. She asks and they say eye color, hair color and dreams. Automatically I knew that this was not a real survey. They were just trying to 'get girls'. So I agreed. Rachel and I walk back out to the front door. The one guy who was the 'pack' leader whips out a notebook (full of graphing paper mind you) and proceeds to ask Rachel the following questions:
Boy: "What color is your hair?"
Rachel: "Brown"
Boy: "What color are your eyes?"
Rachel: "Brown"
Boy:"What is you dream?"
Rachel:"Like my life dream or what I dreamed about last night?"
Boy:"Your life dream."
Rachel:"Oh, to get my masters in Mechanical engineering"
He writes all this down and turns to me and I don't have to answer all those questions because he starts writing down the answers. But when he gets to the eye question, of course he leans closer and looks into my eyes. I don't know what he wanted me to do, go weak at the knees or something-I don't think so. Then he asked me what my dream was and I, knowing that this 'survey' was crap, told him to have as much fun as possible in life. He took me seriously and said,"Well, I really like that answer." Really right now? But then he thanked us for our time and walked away with his 'pack'. As Rachel and I were walking back to our rooms, she said,"Was it not totally obvious that my hair is brown? I thought it was pretty clear, but now I am not so sure."
Boys, we aren't as stupid as we pretend to be-but you sure can be sometimes. (No offense or anything-besides, most of you would agree anyways)

Bare Feet and Snow

This evening, my cousin Carrie, Christian and I were making Aunt Wendy's Chicken Curry Casserole. We put it all together and stuck it in the oven. (it takes 40 mins) So to pass the time I came up with the brilliant plan that we should light a candle and sprinkle salt on it because I have heard that it does fireworks. Well we have a candle, but no one in my apartment (that I am aware of) has matches. So, me thinking I was so smart, suggested that we go next door to see if they had any matches, and, since it was only next door, we didn't really need shoes. Well we all go outside and run next door, and no one was there so we go to the next door down. They didn't have any either, so, disappointed, we skitter down the balcony because it was covered in snow and Carrie and I were barefoot. (Pioneer moment right there) When we were almost there and Carrie stops and looks at me and says, "Wait, we shut the door-and you don't have a key." Me, *Silence*,"Blast." So we send Christian downstairs to see if Shannon (My head resident) was there to give us the spare. (He was smart and kept his shoes on) Of course luck was not on our side as usual and she wasn't there. Now normally, I would have had one of my other roommates with me and they would have a key. But no-two are in Utah and the other one was at her boyfriends house which is only about 8 mins away. (Keep in mind that the casserole is still in the oven and the timer is ticking away...) And of course-I don't have her number so I have to call Whitney and get her number but while I was waiting to the text I get a bright idea to call campus security because surely, they can save the day. Ha. No she tells me that they can't do a thing. (those exact words) So I call Kaylee and beg her to come back and unlock the door because I was sure that the apartment would be smelling lovely (I have a Burnt casserole body wash from Bath and Body Works-LOVE IT!). So she comes over and is awesome and unlocks the door and is a really good sport about the whole thing. Our feet were very appreciative of socks and a warm floor. And bonus-the casserole was perfect!! :) I have now glued my keys to my forehead and am not sure I will ever go outside again-BUT I will NEVER again forget my keys. (or at least not without shoes) :)

You hear the funniest things!

Alright, I was walking from my last class today (FDSCI in the Benson for you college-ites) and I hear this guy and girl talking. They were talking about a text that she had sent and it goes like this
Guy: "Well I'm sorry, I just mis-read it!"
Girl: "Well....you need to learn how to read"
Guy: "Well sorry, Hooked on Phonics didn't work for me."

I almost lost it right there! It was so funny! So there's the funny experience to for the week (so far)

Enjoy!!

Break In-Legally

Alright, I have been meaning to blog but nothing worth blogging about has come up-until tonight. Whitney and I are on our dorm activities committee with another girl Sara. Tonight we put together 35 little pink boxes filled with candy to go around and deliver to each apartment and to hand them a little flyer that tells them about the movie night (singles awareness party) on Saturday. After we finished filling the little (evil) boxes, we started to head out the office door, Shannon says, "Oh wait a sec. (Opens closet door) Here, this is the master key. Knock at least 2 or 3 times and if no one is home, open the door and holler, 'Activities Committee' and set the box on the table." I eagerly took the key because I wanted to 'break in'-legally. :) We got all the way around and on the top floor, and EVERYONE was home. I was getting disappointed because I really wanted to 'break in'. Then we come to this one door. All the lights were on so I didn't have much hope. So we knock about 5 times and then I said *ninja voice*, "Alright, I'm going in." So I unlock the door and 'holler' ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE. I am leaning over to put the box on the table-looking sneaky because I was in ninja mode-and all of a sudden, I hear a bedroom door open. I look back the hall and see this girl looking at me like, "WHO THE HECK ARE YOU AND WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY APARTMENT?" I wish I had a picture of my face because I am sure I looked shocked and guilty all at the same time. Well I cheerfully give our little schpeel and she gives me that 'I hate your guts' looks and shuts her bedroom door. hehe Man fun times! It was really funny! I was laughing pretty hard when I gave Shannon the re-cap. She thought it was pretty funny too. So that is my infamous 'Becca experience' of the week. Enjoy!!

Scare-dy cat anyone??

Ever since I got scared out of my mind by that creepy guy in South Africa, I have always been leery of people following me and staring at me. If I even think someone might be following me, I get scared to death. Now today, I was walking from my clogging class to the MC and I had this brilliant thought occur to me that I should walk through the library and walk across the tunnel so I didn't have to be out in the -10 degree weather longer than necessary. Now in order to get to the tunnel, you have to walk up about 4 flights of stairs. As I was walking up the third flight, I suddenly get this urge to glance behind me. Well looming behind me was this guy and he had the most evil look on his face and he looked right at me. Well I jumped and practically ran up the fourth flight. ( I wish I had a picture of my face-I was terrified already) I could feel him right behind me and when I got through the third floor doors, he was still right behind me. He stayed like that as I walked across the tunnel and followed me into the MC. Once I got into the food part of the MC, he stopped following me and disappeared somewhere. Thank heavens, but that didn't stop me from looking around and making sure that he was gone.

Yes, I realize that I am at BYU-Idaho, quite possibly one of the universities known for their lack of creepers, but still. You should have seen this guy!
I think I make myself a nervous wreck sometimes but I can't help it. I know you think I am a huge scare-dy cat but hey, it's who I am.
