Pistols and I Get Along Great!

Today, I got to go shooting at my grandpa's farm in Kentucky! He has two 9 mil pistols, a Ruger and a P 38. This was the first time that I have shot a pistol, and I was a little scared. I thought that it was going to kick as hard as a shotgun and hurt my wrists. Boy was I wrong! I love shooting pistols! They are my new gun of choice! Here are a few pictures from today!

This is the P 38

This is the Ruger

And this is my Grandpa showing me the ins and outs of working the Ruger.

So I think that the overall moral of this story is that I love shooting in general, but especially pistols!!

I Have An Addiction To Anything Ferrari, And Semi's For That Matter

Today was an awesome day! First off, I woke up in Kentucky. Great day already! Then we went to this fantastic new store called Rural King. It is pretty much Tractor Supply Company, only 10x bigger! It was fantastic and I was loving it! Then we went to the Ford dealership. I was drooling over the mustangs and the trucks. For those of you who know me, this isn't a huge surprise. At this particular dealership, they have a car museum. It was fantastic!! I love old cars! Especially the really expensive ones! :) As we were about to cut through the shop, I saw this big semi with the Ferrari symbol on the back of it. I about died! I grabbed my Dads' arm and said, "DADDY! That's a Ferrari symbol!!! Oh my goodness!!!!" Seriously! This was one of the most awesome semi's I have EVER seen! I wanted to go in it SO bad!!!

I seriously about died when I saw this.

It had such a huge cab, I was dying to go inside!!

So, it's pretty much the best truck ever!

For many of you, this was probably the most boring post ever. But for those of you who know trucks and my addiction to anything Ferrari, you understand the amazing-ness of this!

10:30pm + Finals Week = Sock Hop!

It is finals week. Aka, brains exploding all over Rexburg, mine included. Therefore, in order to keep our sanity and for our (and your) entertainment, we get creative. Last night, my visiting teachers 'ding dong ditched' me some awesome fuzzy knee high grinch socks with candy in them! I promptly ate the candy. :) And tonight, the grinch socks made their debut! Nicole took these wonderful pictures!

I tried to pose....

Then Nicole made me laugh...

Then she said, "Here, lay on the couch like this!" So I did.

This blog post is brought to you by Becca and Nicole.  :)

Frying Pans and Two Year Olds

Today was awesome. I will go in chronological order of awesome-ness.

1. I talked to my sister for 79 minutes! We were talking about what we are getting people in our family for christmas. I was listing things that we had discussed to make sure that we were still on the same page. As I was saying all of this, she says, "Wait, what? What are you talking about?" And I said, "Hi, My name is Rebecca Tolman and I am talking about things that we are getting people for christmas. And she said, "Oh! Hi my name is Sara Tolman. I am aware of this conversation. Please continue." HAHAHA!! We were laughing so hard after that! We are kind of epic.

2. Awesome-ness number two of the day. Nicole and I had a pan fight. It was fantastic, and we were quoting Tangled the whole time.

And here is a clip from Tangled, in case you have never seen it.

3. And the grand finale, I got to babysit Gage!!! Gage is my property managers 2 year old son! Oh my goodness, he has SO much energy! But he is the cutest thing ever!

He couldn't hold a smile long enough, but he is super cute though.

Then he wanted to go outside, and since he didn't have his coat, I wrapped him up in my John Deere jersey. And of course, he was even cuter!

We are still working on the smiling thing.

But seriously though, these pictures don't even do him justice. At one point, he looked at me and told me that he was spiderman. Oh dear, he is the cutest.

So that was my awesome day. Good thing I am having a good weekend, because this up coming week is going to be very stressful, seeing as finals are coming up. But I hope that I will get to babysit Gage again!!! I love that kid!

I am NOT Your Mom

Today is clean check day. For those of you who don't know, we have to clean our house and get all of our jobs done, our manager comes and looks at it, and then we usually pass. Today, my job was to clean the counters and the stove top, among other things. The sink was already really full with dishes (none of them mine, I should add), but there were dishes all over the counters and the stove. And since I am NOT anyone's mother, and we should all be grown ups and do our own dishes, I just kept piling them in the sink.

It's ridiculous, I know.

Skype and Stories From Agronomy 122

Tonight I got to skype with my grandparents! I haven't talked to both of them in a while, so I was very happy to see them and talk to them! I get to see them in less than 20 days and I am so excited!! We talked for an house and a half, during which I told them the latest story from my Agronomy 122 teacher. Here's how it goes.

Professor Williams, "When I was little, my brother and I had kittens. Mine was called Charlie, and I can't remember what my brothers was called. When we would get mad at each other, we would take each others kittens, go out on the back porch, and throw them as far as we could. Now since they are cats, they always landed on their feet and survived."

On to the next cat story from the same professor

Professor Williams, " Now we had a chest freezer in our garage, and it had a little generator outside of it and the cats would sleep around it at night because it kept them warm in the winter. Charlies ear was melted to the side of his head because he slept against it. Any ways, my mom sent me out there one night to get some corn out of the freezer. Charlie liked to jump up and rub against me when I was out there, and that night was no exception. I just brushed him aside, shut the freezer and went back inside. Well three of four hours later, after dinner, I wanted some ice cream. So I go back out to the freezer, open it and see Charlie in there in a more solid state than when I last saw him. I took him inside to my dad and my dad said that we should give him some alcohol, since people drink it to get warm. Well we didn't have any since we were good mormon people. The next thing he suggested was that we try rubbing alcohol, but we didn't have any of that either. So we go the next best thing-gasoline! We got an eye dropper full of that and stuck it right on charlies tongue. Well Charlie jumped up went crazy around the room and then plopped right back at our feet. Dad looked at him and said, "well, charlie ran out of gas"."

Oh my goodness!!!! I don't think I have ever laughed that hard in any of my classes!!! It was so funny!! And what made it even funnier was that it actually happened!!! No worries though, Charlie didn't die. He later died when he got ran over. The whole class was laughing so hard!!! It was hysterical!! So I got to tell my grandparents that story over skype and they laughed just as hard as I did!!

Brian Stokes Mitchell

I was lucky enough to go to a Brian Stokes Mitchell concert tonight! He came to BYU-Idaho and performed in the new BYU-Idaho Center. I have always wondered what this new center is really capable of, and tonight I found out! Brian Stokes Mitchell is SUCH a good singer, and that doesn't even begin to cover it! Being there, in person, when he is singing is such a neat experience! He lights up the stage and truly looks happy to be there! The music was astounding. The last piece was my favorite. He sang O Come, All Ye Faithful, with both choirs, the full symphonic orchestra. Towards the end of the song, the organ came in and just drove the piece home. Again, it was ASTOUNDING. For those of you who have never heard Brian Stokes Mitchell, below is a video of my favorite song that he sings. He didn't sing this one tonight and I was a little disappointed, but I quickly got over that.

I loved being able to have front row seats LITERALLY so I could see his expressions. I'm so glad that he came to BYU-Idaho!

On a side note, I was drooling over the camera and sound equipment the whole night!

Bridget loves me so I'm happy

Today, Bridget came over and we talked and caught up as usual. Then we cooked dinner. We made cheesy beef stroganoff and garlic bread! It was so yummy! Here are some pictures!

And here is the recipe if you want to try the stroganoff. I would recommend that you don't put so much water in and put more noodles. Other than that it is really easy to make! I also made it with cream of chicken soup and it turned out fine!

Cooking Time!

When I was in Utah this past week, I baked a lot! Miranda and I made Fun-da-middles, Carrie and I made cupcakes, and I helped Aunt Wendy make numerous things. So, I have found a website called www.kraftrecipes.com . It has lots of neat ideas, and I found a recipe called Oreo Cookie Bread Pudding. Now, I first had bread pudding at Camp Greystone at the summer staff Thank You Luncheon. They didn't do Oreo bread pudding, but I like theirs a lot. And when I ran across this recipe, I had to make it!!! Here is the recipe!

SUBSTITUTE
Substitute any other kind of day-old white bread cubes for the French bread cubes.

When I pulled it out of the oven, I said, "Wow! It looks just like the picture!" I tested it out on my roommates and they loved it and then I tested it out on Ammon and he liked it too! It is SUPER EASY to make!! Try it and let me know what you think!!!
